Gregory S. Davis
Gregory S. Davis has served as First Assistant District Attorney for Collin County, Texas, since January 1, 2003. Mr. Davis graduated from Southern Methodist University School of Law in Dallas, Texas, in 1977, and became an Assistant District Attorney for Dallas County the same year. He served as a prosecutor for five years under legendary prosecutor, Henry Wade. He left for private practice in 1982, and then returned to the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office in 1992, where he served as a Chief Felony Prosecutor, Chief Prosecutor of the Misdemeanor Division, and Administrative Chief Prosecutor in the Capital Murder Section. Mr. Davis obtained twelve death sentences in Dallas County, including the only two such sentences against women in that county’s history. Mr. Davis is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the District Attorney’s Office. He also remains active in capital litigation and chairs the Homicide Review Board. Mr. Davis is a native Texan. He is a member of the Texas District and County Attorneys Association and the National District Attorneys Association.
